French shipyards Wauquiez and Latitude 46 have presented Pilot Saloon 58 and the Tofinou 10.c, their latest models at boot Dusseldorf 2017.
Wauquiez has been manufacturing modern, ocean-going sailing yachts since 1965 and the Pilot Saloon 58 is the latest addition to its portfolio.
Pilot Saloon 58 is a 17.7m sailing yacht that follows on the success of the 48 model launched in September 2015, the company claims.
The “Pilot Saloon” concept was introduced by Henri Wauquiez more than twenty years ago and the company says it continues to appeal to sailors looking for a yacht that adapts to all sailing styles offering comfort, luminosity and high performance.
“The Pilot Saloon 58 is the opposite of a pointless boat, she is a sailor boat. Protective, she is really build for sailing including in tough seas,” comments Olivier Racoupeau from Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, the architect of the boat.
In addition, WauquiezВ has announced the development of Pilot Saloon 42, set to be released in 2018.
Commenting on the strategy going forward, Christian Iscovici, managing director of the two shipyards, says: “We are starting at the boot Dusseldorf the commercialisation of these new unit and will introduce her to our clients beginning of next year.”

Latitude 46, a boatbuilder company based in La Rochelle, has presented Tofinou 10.c at this year’s show. The 10m sailing yacht is the very first unit in the new range.
The new model follows on from Tofinou 7, the shipyard’s legendary boat which gave rise to a modern range of classic day boats. Latitude 46 says more than 420 units have been built to date.
A new feature compared to older versions of the Tofinou is the 1.75m headroom height. With a slightly higher, 3.20m wide freeboard, the Tofinou 10.c retains the spirit of the Tofinou range. All models in the new product line has been designed by Joubert-Nivelt.
Speaking at boot Dusseldorf, Iscovici also announced the arrival of Geert Kuijpers who has taken on the role of marketing and sales director of the two shipyards. Geert succeeds to Patrick Bloch who is going to embrace new challenges in Asia.
